Ballajura Baptist Church is currently supporting 13 mission organisations. We opted for a smaller number of organisations at a larger amount to ensure that we are able to know and pray for the missions organisations and they are able to pray for our church. The missions organisations that we support are local as well was abroad. As a church we love humanitarian organisations but only support organisations that clearly present salvation through Jesus Christ as that is where there is true hope. Locally, we support Child Evangelism Fellowship, Life Ministries, Pregnancy Problem House, Shalom House, Compassion International, as well as the campus ministry work at Curtin University. Beyond that, our church supports missions groups in Belgium, Thailand, India, South East Asia and Africa (purposely anonymous).
We subscribe to Faith Promise fund raising based on the example of the Macedonian Churches in 2 Corinthians 8. In 2 Cor 8:3, we read that the Macedonian Christians “gave as much as they were able and even beyond their ability.” They looked beyond their known sources of income and trusted the Lord for His special enabling. The Macedonian Church felt the joy of supporting the work of the church local and abroad. We pray regularly for the missions organisations that we support in addition to God’s work throughout the world that the Holy Spirit prepares the hearts to hear the gospel truth that the missionaries teach as well as our own people who speak the truth of the cross in love.
